My First Blog

I'm 65 years old, female, and I've spent my entire life, all 65 years, without a Blog of my own.

I asked a friend, "Why do people blog? What do they say?"

"Just say whatever you want." She'd been blogging awhile.

What do I want to say? I'll have to think about that. Who wants to know what I did today? What I fed the dogs, or if I napped in my chair instead of pulling weeds?

No. I'll have to be more creative than that. Even if I'm the only one reading this blog, I need to be more interesting. Especially if I'm the only one reading, I need to be more interesting. After all....I'm doing this for entertainment. Right? Why do people blog? I guess I'll need to find out if I have anything to say.

Maybe, as I attempt a daily posting, I'll get it, and words will begin to flow. Maybe I'll find this river within that runs into ravines of thought, pools of quiet meditation, an inner spring that bursts forth as prose presses words to the surface in an explosion of poetry. Or maybe not.

For now, I'll ponder. I'm good at that. Rainee
