Well, I took my new camera out today. I don't think I was happy with one picture. :( I know I'll get the hang of it, but none of the pictures seemed clear to me. This is the only one I even considered posting (out of 43).
Maybe the lighting. It was so bright there were times we couldn't even see the monitor to see what we were framing. :)
I tried to keep mine on the auto set most of the time, but it didn't work obviously.
I was a little let down after all that, but uploaded, looked at photos, deleted photos, took a nap, and came back to find just one I could show you of our beautiful scenery. For everything there is a purpose... I don't want to forget. I guess that applies to crappy photos? :)
Poor Sue........her battery died before she got one ocean picture. :( She did lots of pictures of the roses in the garden, as did I.
Maybe a sunset would be better.....

Ohhh Nita, I'm so sorry you are disappointed with your camera. Maybe there is just some setting thats off. Have you read the manual though yet?
A suggestion, log on to DPC and go to their camera link. They list all the cameras there and you can go to photos that have been posted using that camera. You can find out what others have done with your camera.
I do love this shot though. Its nice to see places I have been through someone elses lens :)
Well, it might only be one that you liked, but it is a beauty! Such a nice shot!
There is so much to learn with cameras. I hadn't picked up the booklet to my camera for a while, but recently I went looking for more info. It just takes time and practice. But I think your pics are just lovely.
Thank you, dear hearts. I do appreciate you cyber hugs and encouragement. :)
I think I know what happened. I didn't learn it yesterday, but today.
I went out yesterday, new camera in hand, determined to get the shots...and in the middle of all that I forgot to see. The whole day seemed sort of rushed and no sense of harmony. No "oooohs" or "aahhhhhs" or just something that is so simple and beautiful and made by God. We did see a little rabbit, and Sue sat and watched while I rushed off to get more pictures. :(
I have to see it, really feel what I'm seeing before it can every become a photo for me. Most I took yesterday were just boring to me. I only stopped to smell the roses, literally, once or twice.
But...I learned the lesson that was there. :) That's all I want. (and some beautiful photos too.haha)
Nita...I think you discovered your problem ...I know I have good and bad days with the same camera...you really got it!! I can tell with what you wrote.
Also...if a day has high contrast between light and dark I find that awfully hard to photograph. I love late in the day...when the angle of the sun is lowering, or cloudy days...but you did good!
